SEMINATE Agri Solutions Ltd is a Ugandan company engaged in the improvement of livestock production with an emphasis on pig artificial insemination in Uganda. The company was established in 2021 with a mandate of;
- Importation, marketing and sale of pig artificial insemination supplies in the country.
- Echnical trainings and support.
- Consultancy.
- Capacity building for artificial insemination technicians and farmers.
The major pig artificial insemination supplies offered include catheters (spiral, foam, and post-cervical catheters), lubricants, disinfectant wipes, semen bottles, tubes and blisters, semen extenders(Long and short-term), semen incubators, semen refrigerators, semen straws among others. Additionally, the company offers other equipment including farrowing crates, drinkers, and nipples. The company also offers consultancy services to farmers on pig production and management, as well as the provision of good quality pig genetics in the form of semen.

Seminate Agri Solutions Ltd is a Ugandan company engaged in the improvement of livestock production with an emphasis on pig artificial insemination in Uganda. The company was established in 2021 . Over that period we have managed to partner with Makerere University, as well as KUBUS a supplier of the key artificial insemination supplies.

The Problem
A small number of Ugandan pig farmers rearing high genetic quality boars’ limits market availability of breeding boars for natural mating and thus demonstrates the need to develop a vibrant pig artificial insemination industry. The current inaccessibility of key artificial insemination equipment (such as insemination catheters and boar semen bottles/blisters) coupled with poor transportation capabilities by artificial insemination technicians and other practitioners has resulted in low use, performance, and adoption of pig artificial insemination technology in Uganda.
The Solution
This company (SEMINATE Agri Solutions, Ltd.), therefore, aims at bridging the existing gap between the availability of quality, safe and affordable supplies, and the end users of pig artificial insemination equipment in Uganda. This company has the mandate to import, develop, market, and sell artificial insemination equipment/supplies in Uganda. The importation and development of pig artificial insemination equipment/supplies will result in a constant and readily available supply, hence avoiding re-use that has negatively affected success of the technology. Furthermore, the company looks to steer research and perform capacity-building in pig artificial insemination within the country.
